A private journal you can write or speak
Type an entry in a full editor, or record one out loud and let Cia transcribe and summarise it.
Find any entry again by its words or its date, read Cia's reflections clearly marked as AI, and keep the whole journal private to your account.

Write or speak
Two ways to journal
Pick whichever suits the moment. Typed and spoken entries live side by side in the same journal.
Write
A rich editor for the days you want to think on the page.
- Formatting and images, so an entry can hold more than plain text.
- @mention parts of the app, such as Goals, to link an entry to what it is about.
- Optional prompts for the days you are not sure where to start.
- Dictation, when you would rather talk than type.
Speak
Record a voice journal and say it the way it comes to you.
- Record your entry out loud, at your own pace.
- Cia transcribes the recording into text you can read back.
- Cia writes a summary of what you said, for you to review.
Search
Find any entry
A journal is only useful if you can get back to what you wrote. Every entry stays one search away.
- Search the words of every text entry.
- Filter to voice entries or text entries.
- Browse by day, month or year.
AI, labelled
Cia's reflections, clearly labelled
After you write, Cia can offer a reflection on the entry and point out themes that keep coming back. Your words always stay yours.
- Everything Cia writes is marked as AI.
- Cia's words are kept separate from yours and never replace them.
- You decide whether your reflections feed your coaching.
Privacy
Your journal stays yours
What you write is personal, so the controls over it are yours too.
- Private to your account.
- Export your entries as a text file or as JSON.
- Deleting an entry also removes what Cia remembered from it.
Connected
Connected to the rest of your life
Your journal is part of Balencia, not a separate app, so what you write sits beside everything else you track.
- Write straight after your daily check-in and the mood you logged shows beside that entry.
- @mention parts of the app, such as Goals, from inside an entry.
- Your written entries give Cia context for coaching.
Before you start
Questions
Is my journal private?
Yes. Your journal entries are private to your account. You can export them as text or JSON, and deleting an entry also removes what Cia remembered from it.
Can I journal by voice?
Yes. Record a voice journal and Cia transcribes it and writes a summary you can review. Voice journaling uses credits, charged by the length of each recording. In the written editor you can also dictate instead of typing.
Does Cia read my entries?
Yes, to help you. Cia can reflect on an entry, notice themes that recur and use your written entries as context for coaching. Voice journals are used only if you turn on Cia memory, and sensitive recordings never are. Everything Cia writes is marked as AI and kept separate from your own words, and you decide whether your reflections feed your coaching.
Can I export or delete my entries?
Yes. You can export your entries as a text file or as JSON. You can delete any entry, and deleting it also removes what Cia remembered from it.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Balencia runs in your phone's browser and the journal is laid out for small screens, so you can write or record wherever you are. Recording asks for microphone access the first time.
Is this a replacement for therapy?
No. Balencia is a coaching and tracking tool, not a medical device or a licensed professional. Cia Coach does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or give regulated financial or legal advice, and it is not a crisis service. Use it alongside qualified professionals, not instead of them.
Start with a single entry
Write a few lines or record a minute of voice. Your journal grows from there, and it stays yours.
